Thinkers go down to the woods
The older children from the Thinkers class joined the Detectives and Discoverers classes in a trip to Battram Woods, near Ellistown. We all had a lovely time.
Everyone joined in with some Forest School activities. First we searched for pictures of the animals that live in the woods. The children worked together to remember all of the different animals and then decided whether they were nocturnal or mammals or had feathers. Then, working in teams, we used the natural resources all around us to make pictures of trees and labelled the parts of the tree. After that we let off some steam in a grassy clearing, pretending to be rabbits chased by foxes. Then we came up with lots of reasons why trees are such a good thing to have in the world.
