Our Governors

Glenfield Primary School converted to an academy on 1st July 2014 and is governed by Scholars Academy Trust (MAT)

As a charity and company limited by guarantee, Scholars Academy Trust (the "Trust") is governed by a Board of Directors (the "Directors") who have overall responsibility and ultimate decision making authority for all the work of the Trust, including the establishing and running of the academies governed by the Trust.

Our other governors come from all walks of life, including education, business and policing.  We value all the contributions that our governors make to school life.

Our governors represent diverse backgrounds, bringing expertise from education, business, and policing to our school community. We deeply value the contributions each governor makes to enriching school life. They convene a minimum of six times a year and actively participate in Scholars Governor training and the Scholars Governor Conference.

Our trust offers a comprehensive training program, including access to national college training, annual independent safeguarding training, and regular updates provided by the Head of Governance. The Scheme of Delegation clearly outlines the responsibilities of Local Governing Body (LGB) members and Trustees, which can be accessed below. This document details how the LGB supports the Trustees in managing the trust effectively.

Additionally, the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of all schools meet with the Chair of the trust and the CEO on a termly basis for Scholars Connect. LGB's are also kept informed with regular updates from the CEO on the trust's ongoing initiatives and activities.
