The School Day
The school gates are open from 8:30 am each morning and registration is at 8:50am. We ask that all children are through the gate by 8:48am and the staff are available to welcome the children into classrooms from 8:40am onwards. If a pupil arrives after the gates are locked again at 8:48am, they must report to the school office to sign in.
The children have a morning break, which are currently staggered, depending on the ages of the children. There are always at least 3 members of staff on duty. Free fruit is available for all Foundation and Key Stage 1 pupils and older pupils are allowed to bring in a healthy snack for breaktimes. We ask that foods containing nuts are not brought into school in order to protect those with allergies.
Due to our increasing numbers and the popularity of our school lunches, we have a staggered lunchtime: Foundation Stage Pupils have lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm,Key Stage 1 pupils have lunch from 11:45am-12:45pm, Year 3 and 4 from 12:00pm-1:00pm and Years 5 and 6 from 12:30pm-1:30pm. The school employs several lunchtime teachers to ensure that children have safe and happy lunchtimes. We also have a team of "Helping Hands" pupils who are trained to support other children where appropriate.
The school gates reopen at 3:05pm, ready for school to finish at 3:15pm. The staff hand over the children to parents at 3:15pm from the classrooms. Please ensure that the school is advised if anyone different is collecting your child.
After school clubs run on most days and children are collected from the hall via the Foundation Stage playground.
