Solvers
Class teacher:
Mr Squires

Hi, my name is Mr. Squires. I am the Head of the Speech and Language Provision, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and teacher representative on the school governing body.
This will be my fourth year at Glenfield, and I am really passionate in helping every pupil to reach their full potential. My favourite subjects to teach are Writing and PE because these are the subjects that I enjoyed the most when I was at school.
As well as teaching in Solvers, I will continue to support all pupils in the Speech and Language Provision by ensuring that our already high standards are maintained, chairing all the annually reviews and being a point of contact for any pupils or adults who require it.
I am really looking forward to continue to support Solvers pupils to progress academically, emotionally and with their social communication.
Thank you for your continued and future support.
September 2025 update
In Solvers, over the last few weeks, we have been completing some work on George’s Marvellous Medicine. We have written a description about Grandma, making sure we use as many hideous, descriptive words as possible.
We also wrote and created our own medicines as you can see from our incredible display below.

October 2025 update
As October is Black History Month, in Solvers we have been learning about different people who have had a significant impact in improving the rights of black people across the world.
We have learnt about Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, Dame Floella Benjamin and Nelson Mandela.
We have talked about the impact that they had, the importance of treating people with equality, how we would want to be treated, and the long-lasting effect that their contributions will have on the world.
Solvers enjoyed learning about new people, picking out facts whilst having mature conversations.

November 2025 update
In science, Solvers have been learning all about light. For our experiment this week, we were investigating the change in sizes of shadows when a light source is moved closer to or further away from an object.
Solvers ensured that a fair test was completed by keeping the items in the same place and keeping the angle of the light source and the object measured the same.
